Peeps by Scott Westerfeld

In a world full of parasitic people, life will never be normal again! This is not your ordinary small town boy meets the city girl, and they fall madly in love with each other! Nothing like that.

After Cal went through the dramatic change of transforming into a peep, he learns that he will never be normal again. Ever since he kissed a girl on New Year's eve and she went crazy, Cal gave up on his social life and his girlfriends! Cal was hard at work trying to find his contaminator, when he was swept into her old apartment. He found the resident, and they uncovered many dark secrets about carriers and peeps! Things start to change in Lace (the new resident of Morgan's old apartment) which soon brings them to battle for theirs and many other lives!

    I have not read this book by Westerfeld. I will have to check it out. Is the content okay for it to go on my classroom shelf?
